Student Experience Inventory

The approved Student Experience Inventory will be maintained by the Student Experiential Education Advisor using the experiential catalogue within the Orbis Outcome+ system.  The following types of experiential and ceremonial learning opportunities are pre-approved for inclusion in the inventory; they must also meet the Activity Eligibility requirements, and be connected to at least one competency in the approved Competency Framework.

  • Work-Integrated Learning
    • Examples: Co-operative education, applied studies, internships, practicum placements, preceptorships
  • Study abroad
    • Examples: International exchange (outbound), study tours, courses offered abroad, work study, semester at sea
  • Field study
    • Examples: Archaeological field school, Malawi Field Study
  • Professional Development
    • Examples: Workshops, conferences, speakers’ series, Integrated Management Experience, Student-Managed Investment Fund
  • Certification
    • Examples: Mental Health First Aid, The Inquiring Mind
  • Research, creative expression, authorship
    • Examples: Research assistant, independent study, exhibitions, performances, productions, publication authorship/co-authorship, studio coursework, ensemble or performance groups
  • Innovation, entrepreneurship
    • Examples: AGILITY programming
  • Community Service
    • Examples: Validated volunteer experiences managed through uVolunteer; experience with community organization such as CKXU, The Meliorist, PRIDE Centre, Women’s Centre, LPIRG, ULSU Volunteer Crew
  • Pronghorn Athletics
    • Examples: Athlete on varsity or club Pronghorn Athletics team, coaching or training experience with Pronghorn Athletics
  • Leadership roles
    • Examples: ULSU and GSA executive & council roles, club and organization executive roles, student-for-a-day
  • Mentorship
    • Examples: Orientation & Transition Mentor, Peer Learning Mentor, Career Mentor, International Student Mentor, Tutor, Residence Assistant

*Experiential learning coordinators may request the inclusion of additional activities in the Student Experience Inventory using the Activity Inclusion Request Form.
